A federal judge on Thursday chastised the Trump administration in the harshest possible terms for refusing to obey his order that food stamps be given to beneficiaries in the midst of the government shutdown, citing the president himself as offering key proof of the government’s contemptuous intent. He ordered the benefits, known as Supplemental Nutrition Access Program or SNAP, be paid in full by Friday. Yet, as of Friday evening, the benefits had not been paid.
