FARGO — When Bailey Vaydich took up curling at the age of 8, she was not too fond of the sport at first.
In fact, she made her feelings loud and clear.
“I absolutely hated it when I first did it,” Vaydich said. “I just kept falling way back then and I was really embarrassed.”
As the saying goes, "Fall down, get back up." Vaydich ultimately decided to stick with it. Fast-forward to now, and the Horace High School senior and West Fargo native is one step away from qualifying for the Winter Olympics.
The U.S. Olympic Curling Team Trials are set for Nov. 11-16 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
There, four men’s and four women’s teams will vie for the right to represent Team USA at the 2026 Winter Games, which will run Feb. 6-22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezz
