Agartala, 8 th November 2025: Students from Sharatchowdhury Para of Rongmala village in Charilam are risking their lives each day by crossing a fragile bamboo bridge to reach school. The makeshift structure, built by villagers after the collapse of the original bridge during August’s floods, has become increasingly unstable, raising serious safety concerns.

The original bridge, which served as the village’s sole connection to nearby areas, was washed away in the flood. Although reconstruction efforts were initiated by local authorities, work was abruptly halted, and contractors have since abandoned the site without completing the project.
