Town panchayat meeting held in mobile torch light after power failure

BALLARI: A power outage disrupted the general meeting of the Tekkalakote Town Panchayat in Siruguppa taluk on Friday. The meeting was conducted using mobile phone torch lights, with officials and members reading documents.

The lack of alternative power arrangements sparked protests from some members, who criticized the officials for not making necessary arrangements. The meeting, attended by 27 members, was held in the dark as the generator was under repair.

The town panchayat president, S Anand, chaired the meeting, and a video was later shared on social media which went viral.
