SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Deputies are investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed a life.

On Nov. 7, at 9:13 p.m., the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) responded to a crash involving two vehicles.

Once deputies were on the scene, they learned that a white pickup truck and a dark-colored SUV were on I-49 near Highway 170 when the incident happened.

The dark colored SUV entered the interstate going northbound in the southbound lanes and crashed head-on with the white pickup truck.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they pronounced the driver of the dark-colored SUV dead.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted by LifeAir to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing
