Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNP&TR) has lost one of its most valiant protectors — K9 Jubi, the Belgian Malinois sniffer dog who played a crucial role in tracking poachers and assisting law enforcement in wildlife crime investigations for over seven years. Jubi passed away at 7:08 pm on Friday (November 7, 2025), leaving behind a legacy of courage and devotion.

Born in 2017, Jubi was stationed at the Bagori Range of Kaziranga under the care of her handler, Sanatan Mali, since her induction into Aaranyak’s K9 Sniffer Dog Squad. Together, the duo became a formidable team in the fight against poaching and illegal wildlife trade.
