Emergency services raced to a busy road connecting Coatbridge to the motorway following reports of a car on fire.
It took an hour and a half for firefighters to deal with the incident at the A725 Shawhead Flyover , after the alarm was raised around 12pm on Saturday (November 8), reports the Glasgow Times .
Two appliances attended and crews left the dual carriageway around 1.30pm.
No one is believed to have been injured in the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at around 12.05pm on Saturday, November 8, reporting a car fire at the A725 Shawhead Flyover in Coatbridge.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene. Crews left the area at around 1.33pm after making it safe.
“There are no reported injuries.”
