GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Multiple law enforcement officers are responding to the call of a shooting at a Garner hospital.

According to law enforcement, the call came in around 9 a.m. at the WakeMed Garner Healthplex on U.S. Highway 70.

A spokesperson with the Garner Police Department said that a person was shot in this incident.

The spokesperson told CBS 17 that the shooter is in custody and there is no longer an active threat at the hospital.

CBS 17 was at the scene where a slew of officers were working to secure the scene and searching for any evidence of an active threat.

An officer with the Raleigh Police Department said they are assisting with the investigation and was seen by our CBS 17 crew.

Officials said the WakeMed Police Department is leading the investigation.
