COMSTOCK TWP., MI — Police are investigating a possible homicide after a man died of a gunshot wound in Kalamazoo County.
At about 11:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, deputies responded to a report someone had been shot in the 3500 block of Comstock Village Lane in Comstock Township, according to a release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies located a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man died at the scene.
“The sheriff’s office was able to identify a person of interest who was taken into custody at a separate location,” sheriff’s officials said in the release.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, Michigan State Police, Comstock Fire Department and Life EMS ambulance.
The investigation is ongoing.
