After a promising first year in pinstripes way back in 2018, Giancarlo Stanton’s tenure as a Yankee hasn’t been the smoothest ride. It got to the point that with several years left on his deal, his contract started being considered a burden much earlier than expected. While the merits of the deal from a long-term standpoint still could be argued for days, the last two years have changed the narrative for Stanton.
