Pedestrian traffic signals were installed in 2020, and five years later, they’re being pulled out.
The City of North Bay is advising the public that a section of Main Street West will be closed on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to allow for the removal of the pedestrian traffic signals. The traffic lights are located between Timmins and Nipissing Streets.
“Once removed, pedestrians and cyclists accessing the multi-use path are asked to use the all-way stop at Nipissing Street to cross safely,” according to a media release issued by the city on Friday.
Detours will be set up, with southbound traffic heading toward the downtown core to be detoured via Nipissing Street, Gorman Street, and Timmins Street back to Main Street West.
Northbound traffic on Main Street West will be detoured east
