Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport felt effects of the federal reduction in flights on Nov. 7. A total of 18 flights had been cancelled as of about noon and 45 delayed. An additional 19 flights on Nov. 8 already were canceled, along with two on Nov. 9.
Those planning to fly from South Florida airports should check with their airlines on delays or cancellations until the federal reduction in flights is resolved. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport already felt effects of the cutbacks on Nov. 7, 2025.

NEW YORK − Anxious travelers face another day of refreshing their flight status to see if their flight is among the ones cut due to the record federal government shutdown.

Forty airports across the nation on Nov. 8 faced a second day of government-mandated flight cancellations, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has warned that cuts could increase. Inconveniences are expected to grow in the coming days.

Airlines announced hundreds of flight reductions on the first day of the cuts, and airports warned of long waits and delays.
