Already riding high on a three-game win streak, the Toronto Maple Leafs got some good news concerning one of their top blue-liners.
Defenceman Chris Tanev was seen skating at practice for the first time since suffering a scary injury against the Philadelphia Flyers last week and is “progressing in the right direction,” head coach Craig Berube told reporters.
While he didn’t take part in the team practice, he was spotted wearing a non-contact black jersey and took part in a short solo skate.
“Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed,” teammate Brandon Carlo said of Tanev after practice.
Tanev suffered the initial injury last Saturday against the Flyers after he was hit from behind by forward Matvei Michkov.
