GREENSBURG, PA – A jury needed just 90 minutes to decide the fate of Leah Gillis, a 36-year-old woman from North Versailles, who was convicted this week of attempted homicide after shooting her former roommate through a glass window and door in a 2022 attack that nearly killed him.

Gillis was found guilty on all charges following a two-day trial at the Westmoreland County Courthouse before Judge Scott Mears. Prosecutors argued the shooting was driven by jealousy, as Gillis fired multiple shots at the victim — hitting him in the neck and shoulder — at a Penn Township home in August.
