There may be 71 years between Kathleen O'Donnell and Bradley Martin, but they now have something special in common.

The pair were among the 322 people profiled in the latest book by stARTs North-West (formerly the Burnie Arts Council).

The book titled Burnie Creatives was launched at an event in the city on November 8.

O'Donnell, 96, who is known for her piano performances and teaching throughout her career, considered the instrument a "buddy".

"Sister Sabina [her teacher at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School] used to say 'never pass the piano'," she said.

"If you pass it, sit down and play something, even if it is only a scale."

O'Donnell said being included in the book "was marvellous".

"I never envisaged that this would happen," she said.
