An investigation is underway after a passenger on board a Carnival Cruise Line ship died, officials said.

According to the cruise line, the guest was traveling on the Carnival Horizon, and the ship returned to PortMiami as planned on Saturday.

Carnival Cruise Line said it is working with the FBI in Miami in regards to the incident.

NBC6 reached out to the FBI, who said agents were at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.

The passenger's identity has not been released.
