BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Just ahead of Veterans Day, a few local heroes are getting some well-deserved upgrades to their homes.

These upgrades are thanks to the Home Depot Foundation and HouseProud Atlanta.

Saturday morning, Nov. 8, volunteers helped three Vietnam veterans with house renovations. The work ranged from roof repairs, painting, deck building to landscaping.

HouseProud and the Home Depot Foundation team up each November to host their Celebration of Service. Celebration of Service allows the two to team up and help local veterans with projects they may not have the resources to complete themselves.
