As if Calgary Flames fans needed more bad news.
The NHL’s last-place team is coming off a 4-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, which prompted Mackenzie Weegar to voice displeasure with his team’s performance.
Now, they’ll be missing their top prospect for an extended period of time.
The Flames announced during practice on Saturday that Parekh will be out week-to-week after taking a hit from Blackhawks captain Nick Foglino.
Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 also reported that Parekh has officially been placed on injured reserve.
Parekh was seen clutching his shoulder on the play, and he was still grabbing it at the Flames bench before exiting the game.
