Napoli have reportedly engaged in fresh talks with Kobbie Mainoo's entourage ahead of the January transfer window.

The Manchester United midfielder has struggled for game-time this term and, as a result, has been linked with a possible move in the New Year . United head coach Ruben Amorim has praised Mainoo's attitude, in training, but admitted the 20-year-old still faces a tough challenge to reclaim his place in the team .

Amorim has consistently favoured the midfield pairing of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes , limiting Mainoo to just 138 minutes in the Premier League . The youngster had previously expressed a desire to leave on loan during the summer, but the club shut down that possibility and Napoli have continued to monitor his situation at Old Trafford
