Toyota is recalling roughly 127,000 vehicles in the U.S. over an engine issue that could cause stalling or loss of power, the automaker announced this week.
The safety recall affects certain 2022–2024 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and 2022–2024 Lexus LX and 2024 Lexus GX SUVs, all powered by conventional gasoline engines. Toyota said that machining debris may not have been completely cleared from the engines during production, which could lead to rough running, knocking, or even a complete failure to start.
The company warned that in rare cases, affected engines could lose motive power while driving at higher speeds, potentially increasing the risk of a crash. A remedy is currently being developed, and Toyota said owners will be notified by early January next year.
