Srinagar, Nov 8: In a major security exercise aimed at tightening surveillance and preventing the misuse of communication channels by detainees, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted extensive searches at Central Jail Srinagar and Kupwara Jail on Saturday, officials said.

According to senior officials, the coordinated search operation was carried out in the early hours of the day and continued for several hours.

The operation was jointly assisted by local Police and jail authorities, under the overall supervision of senior CIK officers, they said.
