The Scottish Government has been urged to speed up plans to remove free bus passes from young people who persistently misbehave on public transport.

Back in May, John Swinney announced that work was under way to develop a system that would strip under-22s of their entitlement after repeated bad behaviour.

It came after repeated concerns that the free pass scheme for youngsters has led to a rise in anti-social behaviour on vehicles and around bus stations were raised.

The flagship transport policy, backed by the SNP and Greens, is supposed to allow young Scottish people greater flexibility to find employment or educational opportunities, reports The Daily Record.
