Srinagar, Nov 08: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) on Saturday criticised the National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Budgam by-elections.

Addressing a press conference here, the party’s State Secretary Sheikh Ashiq said, “It is now absolutely clear to the entire Kashmir that what is happening in Nagrota is a friendly contest between NC and BJP.”

He added that Omar Abdullah’s token visit to Nagrota, where he barely spoke for a few moments, “carried a tone that reflected softness toward the BJP rather than opposition”.

“NC’s entire political and emotional focus remains on Budgam — not Nagrota, not development, not people’s issues — only Budgam,” he added.
