Two people were arrested in a murder-for-hire plot after a north suburban Beach Park man was shot earlier this week, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, when a gunshot victim arrived at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said. Detectives determined the victim, a 46-year-old man, was shot while inside his car, which parked outside his home along North Sheridan Road near Kings Way Drive in Beach Park.

The victim was warming up his vehicle before going to work, police said.

Sheriff's detectives identified a suspect after obtaining the license plate of a vehicle captured on surveillance video driving slowly in the area, authorities said. The suspect, who was identified as Cristian N. Ruval-Cavatorres, 28,
