The City of Penticton will once again offer free parking downtown in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

City council voted unanimously at Tuesday’s regular meeting to approve a staff recommendation allowing two hours of free parking on downtown streets over several weekends, beginning in late November and running through the holiday season. Regular pay parking will resume on Monday, Dec. 30.

Julie Czeck, the city’s general manager of public safety and partnerships, presented the plan to council, noting that the program has become a well-supported holiday tradition.
