One of the two men wanted in the fatal shooting of the brother of Toronto singer and poet Mustafa more than two years ago has been arrested, police said.
On July 25, 2023, officers were dispatched to a parking lot near Sherbourne and Shuter Streets around noon after reports of gunshots. A man was located inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as Mohamed Ahmed, 36, of Toronto.
On Friday, Yasir Mohamed, 29, of Toronto was located and arrested by Toronto police’s fugitive squad. He now faces multiple charges in connection with the fatal daytime shooting, including first-degree murder.
