CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) —Hundreds gathered on UVA’s South Lawn Saturday morning for the 22nd-annual Pancakes for Parkinson's breakfast fundraiser, which benefits the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting the search for a cure.
“To date, we’ve raised nearly $900,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation since our founding in 2003,” said Dimney Rideout, co-chair of Pancakes for Parkinson’s at UVA. “We were the first Pancakes for Parkinson’s chapter at any college, and now they’re across the country. So we’re really proud of that.”
