The Duquesne Dukes suffered their second consecutive loss for the first time since Sept. 20, falling to Long Island 29-11 on Saturday afternoon.
“Not a good day for the Dukes,” Duquesne Head Coach Jerry Schmitt said. “Lot of mistakes, technical mistakes, that could have kept us in that football game.”
Duquesne opened the game in familiar fashion, keeping the ball on the ground with feature back Ness Davis leading the charge. Soon after, quarterback Tyler Riddell looked to find BJ Alexander, but Alexander fell down at the top of his route. The ball went straight into the hands of a Sharks defender, giving LIU an early turnover.
The Sharks were unable to produce anything from the interception, going three-and-out but pinning the Dukes at their own 1-yard line from a miraculous punt. Duque
