The Federal Aviation Administration issued a directive Nov. 8 that temporarily bars MD-11 planes from flight — days after a UPS-operated plane of the same model crashed in Louisville.

The Emergency Airworthiness Directive is in response to UPS Flight 2976, which crashed just after takeoff at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. At least 14 people have died in the accident, including the three-person crew, with some potential victims still missing.
