Daniella Gordon scored her team-high 15th goal and Alexia Cecere added her first as fifth-seeded Toms River South defeated 13th-seeded Lacey 2-0 in the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 3 quarterfinals in Toms River.

The Indians (12-5-2) advanced to the sectional semifinals for the first time since 2019 and will face top-seeded Shawnee. They also made the regional semis and went on to win the title during the shortened 2020 season.

Reese Lindemann stopped nine shots to earn the clean sheet.

Ava Schmidt made 12 saves for Lacey (12-10).
