Jack Della Maddalena has established a game plan for UFC 322. He foresees the contest unfolding in a way that is similar to the way he beat Belal Muhammad for the title at UFC 315. JDM thinks Makhachev is going to try to take him down, in pursuit of another title after vacating the lightweight title, but JDM feels he will continually get up and make his damage while standing.

His vision is clear to defend the takedowns or scramble back to his feet, then hurt Makhachev with strikes. He wants to break him down over the rounds until the finish comes. Stopping Makhachev at Madison Square Garden with the crowd going crazy would be the perfect scenario in his mind.
