Power went out for as many as 100,000 customers throughout Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 8, according to published reports.

As of 1:30 p.m. the outage affected neighborhoods such as Leimert Park, Westlake, Mid-Wilshire, Palms, Koreatown and Baldwin Hills, NBC 4 reported on its website .

An hour later, the outage appeared to be mostly fixed, according to the LA Department of Water and Power’s outage map .

But it wasn’t before the Los Angeles Fire Deparfment received nearly 60 calls for people stuck in elevelators since 1 p.m., due to the power outage, department spokesperson Margaret Stewart said.

A department spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
