DULUTH — On Saturday afternoon in Duluth, the Bemidji State football team and No. 13/10 Minnesota Duluth had a battle of dual-threat quarterbacks.
Connor Carver got the start for BSU, and he made the most of it. He ran for 116 yards and two scores, while going 18 for 29 for 210 yards and two touchdowns over the air.
While it was an impressive stat line for the redshirt sophomore, UMD’s Kyle Walljasper nearly equaled it. The red-bearded senior ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while going 7 for 13 for 138 yards and two more touchdowns.
Even though Carver and the Beavers kept things close throughout, Walljesper and the Bulldogs' offense kept finding the end zone, just keeping the game out of reach in Minnesota Duluth’s 42-28 win.
