Norfolk State wasn’t able to snap its losing streak, but the Spartans have proven they can be competitive in the MEAC.
Last week, NSU gave Delaware State — tied for first place in the league — everything it could handle in a 27-20 loss in Philadelphia.
On Saturday, the Spartans did the same against North Carolina Central in a 31-28 loss at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
NSU (1-9, 0-3) dropped its eighth straight, while North Carolina Central (7-3, 2-1) has won two straight and six of seven. The Eagles are a game back of the MEAC’s first-place teams — South Carolina State is tied with Delaware State at the top.
