ATLANTA — Lakers reserve big man Maxi Kleber is available to make his season debut in Saturday’s road game against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Lakers updated Kleber, who missed the first nine games because of an abdominal muscle strain, from questionable to available 2½ hours before tipoff.
“I’m gonna be ready,” Kleber told reporters after Saturday morning’s shootaround. “Just be prepared and be back out with the guys, get back in rhythm and routine.”
Kleber said he suffered the injury during a drive to the basket in practice during the preseason.
“Very unfortunate, unlucky,” he said. “But we try to best to maintain conditioning and everything else. Try to come back as fast as possible.”
