Strong waves have killed at least two people and injured a further 15 including a British tourist at a holiday spot in Tenerife.
A 79-year-old Dutch woman was among those swept out to sea near Puerto de la Cruz.
Emergency services arrived on the scene and rescued her from the water, before pronouncing her dead.
A further three people were found with injuries after being caught up in the severe conditions, according to El Periodico.
Among those affected was a British tourist who was due home on Sunday. He reported that one anonymous woman managed to save a victim suffering a cardiac arrest after performing CPR.
Further east on the same coast, a man died after being swept out to sea in Charco del Viento, which translates to ‘Pool of the Wind’.
