The North 2 Group 1 section is a gauntlet.

All season long, four of the five best Group 1 programs in New Jersey have come from this bracket. Secaucus - ranked No. 5 in the NJ.com Top 20 - has won three straight Hudson County titles and entered the 2025 season as the defending sectional champs.

No. 12 Verona had won three straight N2G1 championships before Secaucus ended their run in 2024. No. 19 Bogota won a state championship as recently as 2025, and Rutherford has been knocking on the door of being a ranked team all season.
