PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WROC) - Three-seed Pittsford won a battle with No. 7 McQuaid in the Class AA semifinals to advance to the championship.
Only three points were put on the board in the first quarter, as Lorenzo Geminiani-Vega hit a field goal for Pittsford to give it a 3-0 lead.
McQuaid tried to answer early in the second quarter, but Pittsford's Dayshawn Preston intercepted a pass to stop the Knights' momentum.
Ten minutes later, McQuaid's offense got rolling. Thomas Bailey scored a short rushing touchdown to give McQuaid the lead 6-3.
Seconds before half, McQuaid had possession again due to an interception from Jack Monsour. Looking to add some more points before the break, the Knights threw a deep ball, but it was picked off again by Preston for his second interception of the day. Th
