NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – In honor of Veterans' Day, Smile Generation Dental offices gave local veterans free dental care. As part of the annual Give Vets a Smile campaign, four dental offices around Albuquerque and one in Santa Fe participated in the program.

Volunteers with a background in dentistry were helping with Saturday's event and say they were glad to give back to their community. "We're doing crowns, fillings, regular cleanings, deep cleanings, pretty much just any restorative needs that our patients have," said dental hygienist Jaimie Meihaus.

This is the second year of the campaign. Each location was estimated to process 25 patients per day.
