Severna Park girls soccer had its typically precise possession game on full display in Saturday’s Class 3A state semifinal against Towson.
And while the No. 1 Falcons stayed in control throughout, the stubborn Generals defense didn’t make things easy.
Senior midfielder Ava Scott scored with five minutes left in the first half and Severna Park kept pressing in protecting the advantage, claiming a 1-0 win over the No. 15 Generals at North County.
The victory gives the Falcons a chance to make it three straight state titles and they are one win away from a perfect season, taking a 16-0 mark into next week’s championship game against Frederick County power Oakdale.
The boys’ and girls’ title games will take place from Thursday through Saturday at UMBC Stadium with specific dates and times
