CHARLESTON, Ark. — Update: The main building was not damaged, and the store will be open on Monday, according to Frank Hug
The Charleston Fire Department (CFD) said it responded to a fire at Hug Chevrolet on Friday night.
The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Frank Hug, the owner, said a cordless device connected to a charger on a workbench is believed to be what sparked the fire.
There were no injuries from the fire throughout the evening, according to Hug.
Hug explained that most of the damage was done to tools and equipment in the surrounding area, and there was smoke damage to the service shop building and a few customer vehicles.
"The tools and equipment in that workspace were damaged by the fire. The building was not consumed in fire, it did suffer extensive smoke
