The Arkansas River Trail has been a Central Arkansas destination for nearly two decades now, but what some consider a jewel of the region has a glaring flaw -- it's unfinished, bicycling enthusiasts say.

The 15.6-mile "loop" that makes up the Arkansas River Trail isn't actually a loop, at least not a complete one. There's a small portion along Cantrell Road in Little Rock that has been incomplete since the trail became what it is today, and cyclists want that to change.

In an effort to make that happen, officials with the city of Little Rock presented a plan for the portion of the trail at the Dillard's headquarters on Thursday at an open forum meeting at the Dunbar Community Center, inspiring hope in some cyclists and advocates.
