EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 22 Michigan State men’s basketball made a statement on Saturday night with a 69-66 win over No. 14 Arkansas.
The Spartans were led by freshman forward Cam Ward, who made eight of his 13 shots from the field for 18 points with 10 rebounds. Coen Carr totaled up 15 points and seven rebounds with three assists.
Jaxon Kohler also supplied 10 points, seven boards and three assists. Michigan State shot 41% from the field and made just one of its 14 three-point attempts. The Spartans dominated, though, with 46 points in the paint and 26 points off the bench.
Arkansas finished the game shooting 39% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc. The Razorbacks did capitalize with 17 points off turnovers, but the Spartans badly outrebounded them 45 to 33.
