LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Just before 3:00 p.m. Friday, Lexington Police were called to Centre Parkway for a shooting .

There, officers say they found a man who’d been shot.

The scene was just down the street from two Fayette County Public Schools.

The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Not long after the shooting, police arrested Erick Morgan.

He’s charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and felon in possession of a firearm.

The deadly shooting Friday put Tates Creek Schools into heightened alert for the second day this week.

Just a few days earlier, another shooting happened just yards away near Gainesway Park.

Officers say a teen was shot at around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
