Texas high schoolers compete in Fort Worth barbecue showdown at Stock Show and Rodeo

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo hosted a regional high school barbecue showdown, drawing 31 teams from across Texas. Students fired up grills and smokers before sunrise to prepare brisket, chicken, ribs, beans and desserts. Organizers called it a valuable opportunity for young cooks, while competitors shared their own “secret ingredients,” including one student who said simply: “Love.”
