Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar has reportedly suffered a serious injury, which would rule him out for the next four months. According to reports, which didn’t mention the exact nature of the injury, Patidar picked up the issue while playing for India ‘A’ in the first four-day First-Class match against South Africa ‘A’ at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Centre of Excellence (CoE).
Patidar batted in both innings in that match, scoring 19 (35) and 28 (87), respectively. It’s unclear when he suffered the injury. However, he was not included in the playing 11 for the second match.
The injury, if confirmed, will end Patidar’s chances of making it to India’s squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup at home. Although he hasn’t played for India in this format i
