Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is once again drawing attention for his remarks on a BJP leader. This time for defending former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani's political legacy , asserting that just like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, the BJP veteran's decades of public service should not be assessed based on a single incident.

"Reducing his long years of service to one episode, however significant, is unfair. Just as Nehruji's career cannot be defined solely by the China setback, nor Indira Gandhi’s only by the Emergency, the same fairness should be shown to Advaniji," Tharoor wrote on X.

The Congress MP's remarks came soon after he wished Advani, one of the BJP's founding members, on his 98th birthday, where Tharoor praised Advani's "unwavering commitment to public service
