A new report from Power Wizard estimates what it’ll cost Georgians to keep their Christmas lights glowing through the season, and the difference between LED and traditional bulbs is striking.

What does it cost to run Christmas lights in Georgia?

Based on 2025 electricity rates, Power Wizard calculated lighting costs assuming displays stay on for seven hours a day over 34 days. Depending on how festive you get, the costs vary widely:

Typical decorations: about $3.49 with LED lights, or $23.59 with incandescent bulbs

Heavy decorations: about $33.51 with LED lights, or $252.60 with incandescent bulbs

Enthusiastic decorations: about $87.94 with LED lights, or a whopping $681.07 with incandesce
