GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) - One person has died from an aggressive house fire in Goldsboro Saturday night.
Goldsboro Fire Department responded to the fire at 309 N. James Street just before midnight, according to officials.
While fire crews aggressively battled the flames inside, they found one victim who had succumbed to injuries from the fire, according to officials.
One firefighter was also minorly injured and taken to UNC Health Wayne where they were later released.
Multiple engines and personnel were at the scene, including several command chiefs and the battalion chief. Elroy and MarMac Volunteer Fire departments were also contacted to assist with covering calls in the city during this time.
According to officials, Fire Department personnel remain on scene Sunday morning.
