The Labour Party is set to launch a crackdown on a "silent" problem plaguing the Department for Work and Pensions, or DWP . Labour Party minister Pat McFadden has spoken out over how the "silent welfare disease" is "crippling a generation".
The work and pensions secretary says rising youth unemployment and illness has led to a ‘crisis of opportunity’ that’s harming Britain.
Mr McFadden has launched an independent review into what is driving youth unemployment. It will be led by Alan Milburn, the former health secretary, andwill examine why increasing numbers are falling out of work or education before their careers have started.
